A loan of $550 helped to buy pea and potato seeds, as well as sacks of fertilizer.

Nilda's story

Nilda is 34 years old and a very happy, hard-working mother. She lives in her own home with her husband Rene, 34, and her two beloved children Dania, 13, and Etno, 7, who are the main reason she tries so hard to get ahead. Nilda is said to provide the best care for her crops in the town of Patay (province of the Tarma District). Her potato, pea and lettuce products are top quality because she is constantly fertilizing them. In the Tarma market where she sells her products, customers ask for her products frequently and she is able to get good prices for them. What she likes most about what she does is the harvest season because she feels compensated for all the months of hard-work. She has been in agriculture for 11 years and feels that the hardest part is protecting against plagues.

In the future she plans to buy a stall in the wholesale market so she can improve income. This is her ninth loan through MFP and she has always been punctual about making her payments as she is very committed to the institution. Within the communal bank she is a member who is very committed to group development. She plans to use the 1500 PEN loan to buy fertilizer for her land as well as pea and potato seeds.
