A loan of $375 helped purchase fabrics, elastics, and thread.

Angelica's story

Angélica, age 43, lives in her own home with her three children. She takes care of the youngest child since the two older children are working.

Each day this hardworking woman operates a sewing workshop located at her mother’s house. For the past fourteen years, she has managed this business in which she manufactures hair accessories and headbands. Angélica is extremely satisfied with her work because she is able to generate steady income from the production of these women’s accessories. She works from 8am to 10pm. Her mother is also a successful wholesaler of these products. What she dislikes most is spending so much time away from her youngest daughter, but Angélica knows that she must work in order to continue with her profession. Being an enterprising woman, Angélica has future plans to buy a sewing machine so that she can start her own workshop at home, thereby giving her the ability to look after her family while she is working. She plans to invest the money she requested in the purchase of materials (fabrics, elastics, and thread) necessary to complete an outstanding order. This will enable her to continue moving forward.

This is her first loan with MFP. Angélica promises to complete her payments on time because she does not want to look bad in the eyes of those responsible for making this loan possible so that she could continue working and making progress.
