Mrs. Sophat Village Bank Group's story

This village bank loan consists of fourteen members who have selected Mrs Sophat as village bank president. The members will use their portion of the loan for different purposes, such as improving their families' standard of living. Mrs Sophat was born in 1964. She mills rice for resale in order to support her family. Since her business is getting on well, she wants to expand. S. Mrs Sophat is applying for a loan to buy more rice to mill for resale. Her husband, Mr Art, is a motorcycle taxi driver. The couple has six children, three of whom are employed in garment factories, one is attending a local public school and the others are too young to work or study.
