Ines's story

Ines is a member of the "Nueva Victoria - Chinchero" community bank which is located in Chinchero district, in Urubamba province, in Cusco department.

Ines is 28 years old, lives with her partner, and has 2 children aged 12 and 6. She is a craftswoman by trade and has a stall in a workshop which is located in the beautiful town of Chinchero. This workshop houses many craftspeople from the town. It teaches them textile painting techniques and how to combine colors and dye yarn with natural oxides which can be found in nature. In particular, Ines works in textiles, using an ancestral technique. She displays her works in the workshop from Monday to Sunday.

Ines would like this loan so that she can invest in buying materials and thereby continue producing her works so that she can get her young children ahead in life and provide them with a good education. Ines carries art in her veins. All her family members learned these techniques when they were very young so that they could dress themselves and wrap themselves up in the blankets that they made themselves.

Ines is requesting this loan to invest in buying materials. She is happy to be receiving the loan and pledges to make her repayments according to schedule.
