A loan of $725 helped to purchase nutritional products to sell.

Juana's story

Juana, age 57, is a kind woman. She lives in her own home with her husband Luis, age 61. Her two children are grown and independent, but she worked a great deal when they were little. Juana began selling nutritional products fourteen years ago. She offers her merchandise to friends and relatives. This business allows her to work independently whenever she has free time. On Friday evenings, she stays up late preparing tamales so that she can have them ready to sell on Saturdays from the doorstep of her house. Having two businesses has always been a benefit since the income enables her to help her husband with paying for their children’s education. Juana has not been able to achieve leadership status with her nutritional products business because she failed to recruit more salespeople, even though she generates good sales herself. In the future, she hopes to have a more diverse stock and travel to other provinces in hopes of increasing her sales. Therefore, she urges everyone to buy more of her nutritional products.

This is her seventeenth loan with MFP. Juana promises to complete all of her payments as she has done before. She belongs to a solidarity group and feels she has been supported all the time. With the loan she obtained, Juana will buy more nutritional products so that she can start selling to different provinces within the country.
