Diogenes Oliverio's story

Diogenes Oliverio R. R. is 38 years old and lives with his common law wife in the canton of Chillanes in Bolivar Province. They have six children.

The members of the Communal Bank “Juntos Venceremos” (Together We Overcome) meet at the fairgrounds of Matilde Esther in the canton of Chillanes. There are twelve members in this Communal Bank, all of whom are devoted to growing cacao and cassava.

Diogenes is a farmer who grows cacao and cassava. He buys his supplies in Mata de Cacao at the end of each month and sells at the fair in Chillanes on Sundays.

Diogenes is requesting a loan to buy supplies for growing cacao and cassava. The assistance from this loan will help him financially to acquire what he needs. His main challenges are pests, diseases, and weather changes. He dreams of providing his children an education and buying a car.

Diogenes enjoys playing sports with his family and going for walks on Sundays.
