Edith is widow with six children. To make a living, Edith owns and operates a medical clinic and also raises poultry for sale. Lydia has been engaged in her business for over 15 years.
Edith joined Kiva partner, Yehu microfinance, to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Edith is requesting a new loan of 40,000 which will be used to purchase medication and manure. She plans to use the additional revenue generated to financially support immediate members of her family.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
