Saima's Group's story

Saima belongs to Lahore, which is Pakistan’s second largest city, known for its history and culture. She lives there in the small area named Christian colony with her family in a two-room brick house. She moved here six years ago. She lives in a combined family system with her brother-in-law and mother-in-law. Saima is the mother of a daughter and two sons. None of them is able to attend school due to the poor financial conditions of their family. Her husband’s name is J. M. and he manufactures cables. He sells his product to different TV cable operators and electronics stores in the city. He is known as an expert in his work and receives a good number of orders every month. Her brother-in-law also works with her husband in his cable manufacturing business while her mother-in-law is a midwife. To support her family financially, Saima operates a small grocery store through which she sells candies, snacks, etc. She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for the betterment of her husband’s business. With the loan, he will buy required materials to make a larger quantity of cables, which will help him fulfill orders on time and make more profits. Saima is hopeful that a loan investment will put her husband’s business to a better earning position. She is a new loan user of Asasah and this is her first loan application. She is confident that it will be a good step for her husband’s business growth.
