Forferio's story

Forferio, 73, is a member of the “NUEVA VICTORIA-CHINCHERO” (New Victory-Chinchero) communal bank located in Chinchero district in Urubamba province, Cusco department.

He’s married and has six children (all independent). He is an artisan. He was born and grew up in the beautiful Valle Sagrado and is considered in the whole town as one of the most recognized and longstanding landscape painter. He is currently painting perfect works in oil. He represents Andean scenes depicting everyday life of Andean people: their values, ideologies, work and much more. He participated in National Geographic documentaries and in August, 2010 was invited to exhibit his and his daughter’s work in Lima’s Suizo Hotel by the Minister of Tourism.

He has his stand in Awanawasi which is also in the town of Chincheros. He would be very happy if people from all over the world were to come visit him soon so that he can tell his town’s history to them. He is a very charismatic, low-key person who is full of talent.

He is asking for a loan to buy supplies he needs: brushes, canvases, oil paint and frames. He is asking for the loan in order to buy materials for his paintings. He is happy with the granted loan and pledges to repay in a timely manner.
