Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $375 helped to buy materials such as wool.

Luisa's story

Luisa is 30 years old and has two children. She lives in the city of Urubamba, where she was born. Luisa makes crafts for the LANANDINA company. She creates sweaters, scarves and hats of alpaca wool. She has been there now for five years and does very well due to the effort she puts into her work. Luisa needs this loan to purchase materials such as wool.

Luisa is a member of the "Mainique" communal bank of the Arariwa Association. She is grateful for the opportunity afforded by this medium and agrees to comply with the payment schedule.
