Katy Margoth's story

Mrs. Margot (as she is known) is a member of the La Lupuna communal bank in Manantay District in the Department of Ucayali. She is 32 years old and is married with 4 children. She has worked with loans from Manuela Ramos for the past 3 years. Margot works buying and selling salted fish. She buys from the boats and then sells the fish at the wholesale market close to the port of Pucallpa. This is how she is increasing her working capital, which enables her to help her husband with some of their household expenses. With her new loan for 1,800.00 nuevos soles [Peruvian currency] Margot will buy a sack of wolf fish, a sack of black prochilodus and a sack of catfish. Loans from Manuela Ramos have helped Margot start her business. She has been able to help her husband with part of the household expenses and live comfortably, with no more worries.
