Matondo Plus Group's story

Suzanne is the leader of the Community Bank named “Matondo Plus". It is composed of 11 members united in solidarity to receive Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses.

Suzanne is 55 years old and single. She is a mother of four children aged between 7 and 26 years old. She sells miscellaneous goods. She has been active in her business since 1987. She began her business selling second-hand clothing. She joined one of Hope’s groups (a DRCongo Microfinance Program) in 2009, and has received seven loans.

Thanks to Hope’s loans, Suzanne’s business has prospered and it generates a profit of $60 per week. Suzanne intends with the next loan to buy more goods to resell at a profit in order to increase her capital. Her ambition is to open a larger store in her area. She works hard in order to achieve her dream.
