Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Godfrey's story

Godfrey is a thirty-five-year-old married man with six children, living in his own house in Kasese, Uganda. He has been dealing in produce for the last eight years starting with a capital of 1,000,000 shillings and later expanding to 5,000,000 shillings. His hardship is price fluctuation and little capital and his vision is business expansion, constructing another house, and educating the children. Godfrey needs the loan to buy rice for sale.
