A loan of $850 helped a member to buy live chickens.

Siyazama Group's story

Zibalile is 48 years of age, single and has one child aged 24 who is still in education. She also has four relatives that she lives with and takes care of. In the photo above, she is in the red dress raising her hand.

Zibalile sells chickens from her home and has been in this business for one year. She does not have any other sources of income. She says her main business challenge is when chickens die and she doesn't get any profit. Zibalile requested this loan through Kiva partner, WDB, to buy more live chickens. In the next five years, she would like to increase her stock of chickens and grow her business. She hopes to use any additional profit to support her family. Zibalile hopes that WDB will continue to help her and others.
