Doña Silvia is 41 years old, married, and has seven children. Three of her children are currently in school. Silvia spends her time caring for her family and working as weaver. She has been weaving for over eight years. Her husband helps support the family with his work as a bricklayer.

Silvia is requesting a loan as part of the Mujeres Triunfadoras Group (The Successful Women’s Group) to purchase materials for her work weaving girdles (sash or belt) which she sells in the market. Silvia started her business weaving and selling clothing with a small amount of personal savings and hopes to expand her business with the help of this loan. With more materials, she hopes to be able to weave more girdles and increase her sales.

The other members of the Mujeres Triunfadores group are involved in the following businesses: animal raising, fruit sales, clothing production and sales, and everyday consumer goods sales.
