Shamim's story

Shamim is a very supportive lady by nature. She supports her husband financially by operating a grocery store in the community, through which she offers her clients daily use items such as cooking oil, sugar, cold drinks, spices, etc. She also runs a clothes selling business, which she operates from her home.

Shamim's husband is M. B.. He is a rickshaw driver. He provides transport services to passengers. Shamim lives with her family in a three-room brick house in Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore is the 2nd largest city in Pakistan and is known for its history and culture. Shamim has lived there in the area of Asif town for past 25 years. She is the mother of 1 son and 6 daughters. Her son is a lathe machine operator and her daughters stay at home and do household work.

Shamim has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah to expand her clothes selling business. With the loan, she will buy more variety of clothes, which will help her make more sales and earn better profits. She has been operating this business for the past 8 years and has full confidence in herself that she will be able to make good changes to her business after investing this loan into it.
