A loan of $775 helped to purchase fish.

Medardo Daniel's story

In the community of San Pablo in the city of Portoviejo the communal bank named Chicas Fresas meets every two weeks. It is a highly populated suburban region of the city and the members are very kind and hardworking individuals.

Medardo is a founding member of the communal bank and he likes to be a member because interest is lower than other loan institutions and because the members of the group are very responsible. He is 56 years old, married, and he has children who are grown but they still live with them. The youngest daughter is in university and the eldest is a teacher. His wife is a housewife.

He has a stand in the market from where he sells seafood. He has been in business for many years, working every day to provide for his family and to give his children a good education for the future. He works every day from 6am to 1pm. He buys the seafood in the same market from the wholesalers.

This loan will be used to purchase fish for daily sales. His dream is to enjoy good health and to keep working in order to provide his family with the best.
