Bonne Semence Plus Group's story

Lukaya is the manager of the Community bank named “Bonne Semence Plus”. It is composed of 19 members united in solidarity of receiving Kiva loans with the goal of developing their businesses.

Lukaya started her business in 2001 selling miscellaneous goods. Today, she operates a general boutique. She is 38 years old, married and the mother of four children aged 4 to 13 who go to school. She has already received MFI HOPE DRC loans nine times and fully repaid them. With the weekly profit of about $110, she intends with the next loan to increase the inventory of her business by buying cans, sugar, sacks of rice and beans and other store items to resell at profit. Currently, Lukaya is happy to be part of one of HOPE’s groups because her business has been reinforced through the loan she received. Her dream is to someday become a wholesaler. She sells in the northern area of Kinshasa.
