A loan of $275 helped purchase of fertilizer and agricultural supplies.

Juan Jose's story

Señor Juan José lives in the municipality of Ticuantepe in the community of Pablo Calero with his wife who looks after the household. They have seven children, all of them adults who have left home. Juan’s dream is to be able to leave something for his children to inherit. The family has always been very close-knit despite their poor economic situation. They are simple country folk. For the last 31 years Juan has worked on the land he acquired through agrarian reform. He supports his family with the pineapple and vegetables that he produces. Currently he faces a difficult situation as he doesn’t have enough money to buy fertilizer and agricultural supplies for the pineapples. He is seeking a loan to buy these products so he can grow better produce and sell it for a good price.
