A loan of $3,800 helped a member for merchandise, like rice and sugar, to sell.

Santa Maria Group's story

A solid, enterprising group with one goal in common: to generate economic stability for their families and businesses. This is how the Santa María group, maD. up of ten members with a great drive for self improvement, can be characterized. Formed over two years ago, the group strives to give the best of themselves at each step they take forward.

An example of this is Mrs. Jacinta B., 47. Divorced with two children, one of whom is still a minor, Jacinta tends daily to her store which is a very stable source of income while also in the afternoons selling anticuchos (a typical regional dish consisting of skewered, roasted meats). Both sources of income produce stable profits to get ahead and pay for her children’s education.

In the future she’d like to expand the store to generate more sales. She will use the recent loan to buy merchandise, like rice and sugar, to sell. Part of the loan will be used to buy school supplies for her youngest son.
