Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $800 helped to purchase raw materials and supplies for shoe making.

Wilmer's story

Wilmer Rodríguez is definitely a happy man who is always thinking up new projects. His previous investment plan was to improve his sales stall with paint and advertising to help it stand out more, to purchase materials to repair and make shoes, and additionally he took on the task of purchasing brand name shoes to sell. That is precisely what he did with his last credikiva loan. Currently he is requesting a second loan through this same line because he is going to purchase raw materials for shoe making, in keeping with the approaching carnaval season. And he will purchase shoes for re-sale as well because he did very well with those sales with his last investment. "Thank you for the help you have offered and the opportunity for a new loan" is the the message that Wilmer wants to send to his Kiva financial backers.
