A loan of $1,075 helped buy clothing and footwear.

Jenis's story

Jenis O. Ramírez is 33 years old and lives in Barranquilla where she sells various items such as purses, shoes, dresses, and beauty products. She has been a merchant for 18 years, beginning in the food sector. She sold fried meats and with much effort, dedication, and discipline, gradually increased her working capital, and added a variety of products. This greatly increased her income for her household.

Her main goal is to enlarge her business, to continue helping her husband with their shared family obligations, especially their children's education. Her greatest challenge came when sales decreased with the cold weather at the end of last year. But the business has gradually recuperated and is now back to normal.

This is Jenis’ first loan with Fundación Mario Santo Domingo and Kiva. She will use the money to buy clothing and footwear. With this purchase, she will widen her client base, from past customers to referred customers and future customers. This would guarantee a successful investment of the loan.
