Julio Samuel's story

Julio Samuel Agencia de A. is 49 years old and has a family that consists of his wife and three children (ages 10, 13, and 15). He has high hopes of supporting them and providing them with a successful future. In one of the most commercial areas in central Barranquilla, Julio has a business where he offers detailed inlay services.

He started his career by selling paintings. Through this business, he gained experience and knowledge in the art of detailed inlays. Julio has practiced this trade for two years, which allowed him to become independent and start the business he manages to this day. This business has helped his family move forward.

To date, Julio has received five loans from Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. The loans were used to finance his portfolio so that he could respond to the demands of his customers by offering a wide variety of designs. One of his dreams is to organize a gallery where he can expand his market and effectively display his work so that his customers will be impacted. His first loan through Kiva will be used to buy wood, nails, tacks, molds, and adhesives for making artwork that has already been requested. Each investment he makes is based on the level of successful pre-sales he has completed.
