A loan of $1,100 helped to stock up on shorts, polo shirts and pants.

Herminia's story

Herminia, 46, is a pious, hard working woman living in her own house with her husband, Nelson, 39, and their two minor children. After having sold beauty products for several years she changed her occupation a year ago. Since then she’s been selling casual clothes for all ages according to her customers’ requests. She does well because she has customers still from her previous business. Because of this the business is quite profitable. She stocks up every weekend at a commercial merchandise mart in Lima and gets the sweatshirts and shorts from a neighbor who manufactures them and sells them to her at good prices. She likes the business because she amuses herself quite a bit with it so she plans in the future to increase her stock in order to sell for cash and earn higher profits and be able to educate her children. She is a member of a small communal bank and this is her 10th loan with MFP; she has shown success and commitment toward her fellow group members. Herminia buys necessary merchandise monthly according to orders placed with her so will use the requested loan to buy pants, polo shirts and shorts to fill those orders.
