Christiana P.'s Group's story

These are teachers of the Holy Rosary Primary School, based in Kenema city. This school was founded in September 1956 by the Catholic Mission to improve the education of female children. Teachers of the Holy Rosary Primary School have come to SMT, a partner of in Makeni, northern Sierra Leone, to seek a loan.

This is the first loan that teachers of the Holy Rosary Primary School have sought from SMT/Kiva lenders. They have requested a loan of SLL 4,500,000 for the entire group. With the help of this loan, these teachers will be in a better position to buy or invest in items that their salaries alone cannot provide.

Christiana P. K. is the leader of the group. She is 54 years old. She was born in Baiima village. Christiana is a widow and has four children. She has been in the teaching profession for many years. She has requested this loan in order to buy house-building materials like iron, corrugated zinc. and bags of cement.
