Mrs. Nob Sopheap Village Bank Group's story

Sixteen people make up this village bank loan. They will each use their portion of the loan for different purposes to improve their families' standard of living. They are located in Ta Muong village in Takeo province. All the members have selected Mrs. Nob S. to be a village bank president.

Mrs. Nob S. and her husband, Mr. Som Somret, are farmers who own a 2-hectare plot of land where they grow rice to sell to support their family. At present her house is not comfortable to live in because it has no electricity. Mrs. Nob S. is, therefore, requesting a loan to access electricity. She would like to use the rest of the loan to buy some piglets for breeding to start a new business. She is the mother of three children: one is a construction worker, one is a seamstress in a garment factory and the other is a student.
