Mercedes B. is from the town of Sto. Niño. She is 50 years old. Mercedes is married and has 5 children. Four of her children are still going to school. To make a living, Mercedes plants and harvests rice for sale. She also raises pigs for fattening and sale. Mercedes works hard to sustain her family, especially her children's education.
Mercedes joined CEVI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. She has successfully repaid a previous loan from CEVI, and is requesting a new loan of 15000 PHP to purchase additional rice seeds, fertilizers and feeds.
