A loan helped purchase two bags of seeds for planting peas.

July's story

July is a hardworking woman who is 26 years of age. She and her husband Eloy have two children. They live in a rented house located in the village of San Juan La Libertad. July works hard as a farmer. Five years ago, she started renting two hectares of farmland and continues to pay rent on an annual basis. With the acquisition of this land, she started planting potatoes and peas. She cares for, fertilizes, and cultivates her crops with her husband. The two of them sell their harvest at the local wholesale market. However, they sell potato seedlings in their village. Now they are working hard to acquire their own land so that they can minimize their costs.

July belongs to the Communal Bank “Capital Semillera” (Seed Capital). This is her tenth loan with MFP and she is a responsible member. Within the next few months, July will be harvesting several sacks of potatoes. For this reason, she will use this loan to buy two bags of seeds so that she begin planting peas on her land after this harvest.
