A loan of $1,050 helped buying various grocery items.

Fatoumata's story

Born on September 17, 1982 in Sikasso, Ms. Fatoumata B. is a divorced mother of two boys living in a large traditional family in Médine-Sikasso (3rd administrative region of the Republic of Mali). After having run many businesses unsuccessfully, she became familiar with this grocery business over five years ago. She operates in front of her home in Médine Sikasso, where she is much in demand by her customers.

To satisfy her burgeoning customer base, Fatoumata decided to rejoin the micro-finance institution Soro Yiriwaso about two years ago. She has benefited from two loans, which have been repaid successfully.

And so, she is requesting a third loan to enable her to buy goods from her suppliers from Sikasso but also from Bamako: 40 cases of BRAMALI beverages, 50 packs of NBB beverages, 70 boxes of mineral water, 8 boxes of Candia milk, 30 boxes of canned beverages of various sorts (Malta, Vimto, Ivorio, etc), 15 packs of mineral water in sachets, a few boxes of cookies of various sorts, etc.

With this loan, Fatoumata envisions making a monthly profit of 300,00 francs CFA that will be used essentially to increase her working capital, to help with family expenses, and to pay the loan interest.
