A loan of $4,875 helped a member purchasing sheep for fattening and resale.

Boussoura Lô / Samba Ka Group's story

The solidarity group Boussoura Lô/Samba Ka has been created on December 30, 2009. It is composed of 28 women from the same village. They are joined by friendship, family ties and common work. Their main activities are retail and raising sheep.

Mrs. Ndeye L. (standing at the far edge of the photo, wrapped in a pink scarf) is the group’s leader. She is 69 years old. She is married and the mother of five. She also has three nephews in her care.

She raises livestock. She has started this line of work since joining Caurie-MF in 2009. Her husband helps her sell the animals.

Her new loan will allow her to purchase at least three sheep to be fattened for 5-6 months for later resale at a market.

Her goal is to help her husband cover the school fees for her children and the food expenses for the family
