A loan of $725 helped to buy food items to start a new business.

Jhony's story

Jhony, 20, is from Anco district. He is a cheerful, hard working young man. He cohabits with Sarita, 18, who is 8 months pregnant. They live together in their own house where peace and concord reign. Jhony is a very responsible young man who is very knowledgeable in his work: he’s a farmer. His parents taught his this occupation when he was quite young and since then he’s worked his own field for the last four years. He has three hectares producing the following crops: cocoa beans, coffee and bananas. During harvest time he hires day laborers to help. He is quite aware that this contribution he’s getting is to produce good quality fruit. He sells his cocoa beans and coffee in the city of San Francisco because that’s where the best prices for these grains are available. What he enjoys the most about his work is harvesting because that’s when the long months of hard work bear fruit in the good quality of his crops. Transporting his products from the fields to the drying spaces is the most difficult part of the job. For later on he’d like to purchase new fields and plant coffee and cocoa beans. This is his first loan with MFP. He feels the loan will help him a lot with the progress of his work and he’s willing to repay in a timely fashion. He thanks Prisma for granting the loan. He will use the requested 2000 new soles to buy food items to start a new business selling groceries.
