Elourdes Maribel's story

Sra. Elourdes Z. is a member of the Communal Bank “Sol Naciente” (Rising Sun). She lives in the sector of Feria Libre in the city of Cuenca. This city is admired for its architectural beauty, which contributed toward its recognition as a World Heritage Site. The natural beauty, different cuisines, and the kind friendly people are all characteristics that make Cuenca a lovely city.

Doña Elourdes is 36 years old, married, and has three children (ages 21, 20, and 7). Her two older children are married and live independently. The youngest child attends school in the city. Her husband works as a merchant. They do not own a home and are currently living in a rental property.

Doña Elourdes has been selling chickens for seven years. She works every day and has an established customer base. In addition, she sells trinkets in her free time.

The money from her loan will be used to buy chickens and trinkets so that she can continue her businesses. Elourdes joined the Communal Bank two and a half years ago. Her goal is to buy a vehicle that she can use for work.
