Sok's story

Sok P. is 50 and lives with her family in the Siem Reap province of Cambodia, an area known for its Angkorean temples. Sok is a farmer, earning a daily income of 1.5 USD. Her husband is a motor-taxi driver and earns a daily income of 3 USD. Each month, the family has to spend 55 USD on food and 35 USD on other necessary expenses.

Sok is requesting a loan of 500 USD to purchase a new motorbike for her husband to operate his business more efficiently. This will be her first loan from CREDIT, a long-standing Kiva partner. In the future, Sok would like to use the additional income to repair her house.
