Juliana's story

Juliana, 64, is a member of the “Las Kantutitas de Camicachi II” communal bank located in Ilave district, El Collao province, Puno department. She’s single and finished third grade.

She’s been collaborating with the Manuela Ramos Movement for a year and a half. Her initial 300 new sol loan was used for her livestock, pigs, sheet, etc. raising business.

She will use this 2000 new sol loan to buy a dairy cow and a pig. She also tells us that she works her fields farming potato, quinoa, lima beans, apilla (a tuber), olluco (a tuber) to later sell. She works alone with occasional help from her niece.

Her dream is to improve the livestock in order to improve her income.

What she likes about the communal bank is the ease of the loan and what her savings earn.
