BENKADI is a group of 6 women who are, on average, thirty-five years old with six children and live in nuclear families in the Mission, a district of the city of Ouelessebougou (2nd administrative region of Mali). This is their first loan with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution, with the goal is of satisfying the needs of their customers. This group of women sell charcoal with Alimatou S. as well as shea butter, soap, wax pagnes (colorful African cloth) etc. Alimatou S. plans to buy 40 bags of charcoal with the loan. She gets her supplies from wholesalers at the OUELESSEBOUGOU Grand Market and surrounding markets. She sells her goods retail, in cash or on credit, at the Ouelessebougou, BAMAKO market and at her home to a largely female clientele. She hopes to earn an average monthly profit of 30,000 CFA of which a part will be used to help her husband with everyday expenses and the remainder will be invested in the businesses.

BENKADI est un regroupement de 6 femmes ayant en moyenne trente cinq ans, six enfants et vivant dans des familles nucléaires à la Mission, un des quartiers de la ville de OUELESSEBOUGOU (2ème région administrative du Mali).
Elles sont à leur première collaboration avec l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce du beurre de karité, de savons, du charbon de bois avec ALIMATOU S., des pagnes wax, etc.
Elle compte acheter avec son prêt, 40 sacs de charbons. Elle s’approvisionne au grand marché de OUELESSEBOUGOU et marchés environants auprès des grossistes. Ellle effectue sa vente au marché de Ouelessebougou, BAMAKO et à domicile à une clientèle composée essentiellement de femmes, en détail, au comptant et à crédit.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 30.000FCFA dont une partie sera utilisée pour l’appui de son mari dans les dépenses quotidiennes et l’autre partie sera investie dans les activités.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
