Lala's story

Mrs. Lala T. is a 42-year old married woman with two children, and she lives in a traditional extended family in Sanankoroba, located 35 kilometers from Bamako.

After she finished school, she became part of the Soro Yiriwaso's group loan program seven years ago. She was seeking to improve her restaurant business. All of her previous loans have been fully repaid, and she is on her fourth individual loan, which will be used to create a stock of condiments and food products. She gets her supplies once a week in Bamako. With this loan, she plans to buy sixty kilograms of condiments and one ton of various cereals and root vegetables.

She hopes to make an average monthly profit of 75,000 FCFA to make loan payments and invest in her business. She also hopes to use Soro Yiriwaso's financing to open new restaurants in other locations where they are needed.
