Ddc Group's story

Zakia M., who is in her mid-thirties, is married with three children. She has been selling clothes door-to-door for three years. She works from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. daily and is able to make a fair monthly profit. This will be Zakia's 2nd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to buy more sarongs, fabrics, bedsheets and curtains and has repaid her loan successfully. Zakia hopes for a loan to start selling food in remote areas.

Zakia will share this loan with her loan group, DDC, which has 17 members, who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Zakia is in the front row, second from right.
