Digna Esperanza's story

Digna L. is a member of the San Miguel community bank. She lives in La Victoria Alta community which is located in El Valle parish. This parish is admired for its natural beauty. The locals are very hard working and work in commerce, raising animals and growing crops.

For three years, Digna has been serving in a snack bar in a local elementary school. She works from Monday to Friday, from 7.00am to 1.00pm. At home she raises animals such as chickens and guinea pigs.

Digna is 39 years old, married, and has 3 children aged 20, 17 and 18. Her eldest child (a daughter) is studying at university, her middle child (a son) is in high school and her youngest (a son) attends a local elementary school. Her husband is a construction worker. They live in her daughter's home.

Digna has been a member of her community bank for 13 years. She will invest her loan money in buying more products for the bar such as water, candy, soda, sandwiches, etc. Her goal is to grow a lot more in her business and to help her children improve themselves.
