Lucy's story

Lucy W. is a married lady. Her husband is an electrician, and they have six children aged between 24 years old and 2 years old.

She runs a food cafe and sells such snacks as chips, sausage, samosas, eggs and chicken to the local people. Her business is located in a residential area known as Huruma in Nairobi. She has been in this business for 15 years now and has managed to provide employment to four people.

She says that this business is profitable and the major challenge she has is power outages. However, she works very hard from early morning to late evening to keep her business doing well. She is using her loan of 50,000 KES to open another food cafe in an area called Chokaa.

In the future, she hopes to venture into the real estate business. She describes herself as hard-working, determined, generous and God-fearing.
