A loan of $725 helped pay workers to help with her harvest.

Bethy's story

Bethy is 25 years old and a native of the District of San Francisco. She is married to Cipriano, age 27, and they have a four year old son named Hedrick. They live in their own home in the community of Palmapampa Annex in the District of Samugari. Bethy and Cipriano have been able manage the crop rotation on their land to achieve very productive returns. She is a farmer and has a tract of land that contains six hectares where she plants cacao and coffee, products that provide sustainable income. At harvest time, Bethy must hire workers to quickly pick the fruit off the plants. Bethy has been working for eight years and knows her responsibilities. What she enjoys most about her job is caring for her crops since it makes her happy. She considers the most difficult part to be transporting her products from the field to the city of San Francisco, the place where she is offered the best prices for cacao and coffee beans. Going forward, she wants to buy more land so that she can plant more cacao.

This is her first loan with MFP. Bethy believes this support will greatly help her make progress in her work. She is grateful to Microfinanzas Prisma for granting her this loan. The disbursement of 2000 PEN that she requested will be used to pay workers for harvesting her crops.
