Amani Kwetu Group's story

Nabutote B. N. is a businesswoman and heads the Amani Kwetu business group. She is 43 years old, lives alone, and is the mother of two children. Her sons are 23 and 20 years old. Nabutote B. N. sells drinks (Primus beer, Fanta, Coca-Cola). She sells her goods at home. She started up her business with a fund of $30, which came out of her own salary when she worked as a domestic for a family (in the city of Bukavu-South Kivu). She has run her business for 9 years. This new loan should serve to supply her with new merchandise (10 cases of Primus beer, 10 cases of Metzinger, 10 cases of sweetened Fanta and Coca-Cola). In addition, she aims to enlarge her enterprise, build a refreshment bar, buy means of transportation for her goods in the long run, educate her children, and spend the rest of her life in peace. Nabutote Bore N. thanks Hekima (one of Kiva's field partners) for its work dedicated to poor women who are excluded from the classical banking system. The Amani Kwetu group is made up of 23 members. However, one member, Baeni B., is not visible in the group photo.

In this group: Nabutote, Faida, Mwamini, Bwira, Kibandja, Lumoo, Furaha, Wabiwa, Baeni, Naburoche, Mapendo, Bunyere, Yombo, Bwimirire, Cheche, Ndehya, Bitendanwa, Bahati, Cikala, Bauma, Baseme, Kikuba, Kasao
