54-year-old Eleanor lives in the town of Surallah with her family. She is engaged in rice farming, hog-raising and retail selling. She and her husband maintain a rice farm. They sell their harvest to rice traders. She also raises pigs in their backyard and runs a small sari-sari store. Eleanor does all these activities to provide the increasing needs in their household.
Eleanor joined CEVI to gain access to financial services to help improve her living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Eleanor has successfully repaid a previous loan from CEVI. Eleanor is requesting a new loan of 17000 PHP which will be used to purchase fertilizer and pig feed. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to support her family financially.
