A loan of $1,100 helped to buy summer clothes.

Rayda's story

Rayda, 32, is a single mother from Ayna San Francisco district; she’s an unassuming, hard working woman living in a rented house with her two beloved children, Marisol, 17, and Liner, 14. What she most wants in life is to be able to provide her children a better education.

The best known and most popular place to buy assorted clothing is a small shopping center called “Gamarrita” which is where Rayda has a sales stand. She tends to all her customers who visit her stand here kindly and courteously thanks to the novel items she brings personally from the city of Lima.

What she enjoys most about her work is advising her customers on which items look best on them because she entertains herself a bit doing so. She’s been in this line of work for four years and considers having to remain in her sales stand all day as the most difficult aspect of it because she opens at 8am and stays open until about 9pm. In time she’d like to set up a larger business where she can provide better customer service.

This is her third loan with MFP and she knows that she must repay on time if she wants to be able to access future loans and is willing to do so. She is a very cheerful member of her communal bank who always contributes the agreed upon contributions.

She will use the requested three thousand new soles to buy more clothes in the city of Lima, preferably summer clothes, since this is the type of clothing most in demand in the jungle area of our beloved Peru
