A loan of $350 helped to buy merchandise to stock her grocery store.

Rosa Elvira's story

Rosa Elvira Pérez Hernández lives in Chicoasen in the state of Chiapas, México. She is married and has 2 children in her care, who are: Kevin Jasiel, 13, and Martha Eunice, 11.

The loan that she is requesting will be used to buy merchandise to stock her grocery store, which she has had for 8 years. She comments that the business is going very well, as it has provided a good income for her household.

Her mother-in-law, who had a grocery store, encouraged her to work in the business. Later, her mother-in-law decided to sell vegetables and left the business to Rosa so that she could help support her family.

With the earnings that she is getting she invests in the purchase of more merchandise, so that she can better stock her store and so her customers can find what they are looking to buy. In this way she can improve her profits. What she wants is to be able to save so that she can manage to expand her business, and so that she can provide for her two children, who are in school.
