Maria's story

María is a member of the “Túpac Amaru” communal bank located in Yunguyo district, Yunguyo province, Puno department. She is 55 years old, married and has 7 children. She was unable to go to school.

She has been collaborating with Manuela Ramos Movement for 12 years. Her first loan was for 300 new soles that she used to buy sheep to continue in business; her business is sheep raising. She also raises cattle and farms because her husband has been living in Arica, Chile for some time now.

She will use this 3000 new sol loan to buy a Brown Swiss bullock.

Her dream is to buy a car. What she likes about the communal bank is the ease of loans and to share joy with the other members.
