A loan of $925 helped purchase sheep & pigs.

Genara's story

Genara is a member of the Communal Bank “Túpac Amaru” which is located in the District and Province of Yunguyo, Department of Puno. She is 56 years old, married, and has six children. Genara was not able to obtain an education.

She has worked with Manuela Ramos for twelve years. Her first loan was in the amount of 300 PEN. The money was used to purchase five lambs for her business of buying and selling livestock, such as sheep and pigs. Her husband is a farmer, but he also takes temporary construction jobs.

With this loan of 2500 PEN, Genara will buy sheep and pigs. Her dream is to improve her business and provide her children with an education. What she enjoys most about her Communal Bank are the training classes and the interest from her savings.
