A loan of $2,950 helped a member purchase cooking utensils.

Luz Y Vida Group's story

Cecilia A. Z. is 39 years old and a single mother of four children. She works in the afternoons selling fast food such as “salchipapas” (sausages and fried potatoes), hamburgers, coffee, and other items. Cecilia operates her business from the doorstep of her house.

Ever since she was a young woman, Cecilia has maintained her household. She receives support from the father of her children. Her oldest child works in Chile, while her third child works at a restaurant and then helps her in the afternoons with running her business.

The loan that was provided will be invested in the purchase of utensils for improving her business. (In the photograph, Cecilia is seated in the middle of the group. She is wearing a gray sweater.)
