Leonard is 24 years old and is single. Leonard currently works in a shop in Kanazi district. He takes care of two relatives who are between 8 and 25 years old. He runs a well-organized small store which sells various products, such as rice, sugar, soap, etc. He has been operating it successfully for three years, and his shop is open from 6am to 7pm every day. Leonard is the leader of this group, called 'DUTERIMBERE' in the local language, which means "to be developed". The group consists of two men and eight woman. The group has requested a loan from Kiva lenders, via Vision Finance Company, in order to purchase more products for their boutique so that they can provide better service to their customers. The loan will impact the group members by helping them to purchase larger quantities of stock, which will allow them to earn more profits. With the extra income they all earn, Leonard and his group hope to save some money and to reinvest in their businesses.
