A loan of $675 helped to buy lubricants (oils).

Sonia Narcisa's story

Sonia Domínguez is a member of the Yanuncay community bank. She lives in the neighborhood of the same name which is located in the city of Cuenca. This city has been a world heritage site since 1999. It was named a world heritage site because of the architectural beauty of its historic center. Its people are very kind and friendly and they maintain their culture and traditions. Sonia is 44 years old, single, and lives with her mom. Together they share the household expenses. Sonia owns the house in which they live. She has been working for 10 years in a 'lubricadora' (a place that carries out vehicle oil changes). She owns the business. She works from Monday to Friday, from 9.00am to 5.00pm. In her spare time she helps her mom in her 'picantería' (restaurant). This is Sonia's third loan as a member of her community bank. She likes being a member of the bank because she has very good friends there who she chats to and they all get to break out of their routines when they attend the meetings. Sonia will invest her loan money in her oil change business, buying oils. Her goal is to own her own vehicle.
