A loan of $1,050 helped purchase cashew nuts.

Azucena Del Carmen's story

Doña Azucena is a hardworking woman. She is 53 years old and lives with her children in Jiquilisco in the Department of Usulután. Azucena sells cashew nuts and learned this business from her relatives. To keep her business running, she must buy when the cashews are in season. She is able to purchase large quantities that last for most of the year. On this occasion, Azucena is requesting a loan to invest in cashew nuts.

With this investment, she hopes to obtain good quality cashews that she can sell throughout the entire year and will allow her to keep working. Her sales are conducted in Usulután, but occasionally she travels as far as San Salvador to sell her product in order to generate income for her family. Doña Azucena hopes the funds from this loan will result in a good investment. She plans to sell large quantities throughout the year, repay her loan on time, and improve her living conditions.
